Our leadership | Prasanna Gopalakrishnan

With more than 25 years of experience in technology, information systems and digital transformation, Prasanna is Group Chief Technology Officer of Sky Group, Europe’s leading media and entertainment company. As Group CTO, Prasanna sets the group-level vision, objectives and operating model for all Sky’s European territories in order to form a cohesive, Sky-wide technology strategy. Her team oversees all the technology systems underpinning Sky’s broadband, mobile, customer, digital and enterprise management platforms as well as workplace technology, data centres, Sky Labs and cyber security. She leads the Technology Executive board, reporting into Sky’s CEO.

Prasanna joined Sky Group in Sept 2021. She has an outstanding track record in delivering complex technology and digital transformation for some of the world’s most recognisable global institutions. Prior to Sky, Prasanna was Managing Director & CIO of Consumer Tech Business Operations at Bank of America, driving digital strategy and implementation for 70 million customers and over 100,000 employees worldwide. Before that, Prasanna served as Executive Vice President and Chief Digital and Information Officer at Boston Private and has previously held leadership roles at Harvard University, Fidelity Investments, Thomson Reuters and State Street Bank. 

Prasanna has been on the advisory boards of a number of Blockchain and Cyber Security start-ups, helping to drive new business models, platforms and product development. She has been recognised with numerous awards for outstanding digital leadership and transformation efforts. As a vocal advocate for women in technology she has been a strong promoter of diversity and inclusion throughout her career, and she serves in various capacities to develop women into leadership roles.

Prasanna holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the D'Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern University, USA and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, India.
